Help!, '96 powerstroke started, drove 1 block and it quit. Large 30 amp fuse in auxiliary fusebox by left front wheel well is blown. "wait to start' light does not come on. Replaced fuse and immediately blew new fuse. Blew this fuse once last year, replaced it and has been fine till now. What to do next? Thanks for any ideas.
SORRY, I seemed to get this in the wrong forum. :o

im not sure what that fuse is for, but try posting at thedieselstop.com you should have no problems fixing your problem if you post there.

I could be wrong, but I think that fuse is for your fuel heater. When you get a short in that wire, or the connection in the bowl... you blow a 30 amp fuse just like that. You can disconnect the heater and it will stop, but if it's as cold where you are as it is here, you might not want to do that.

if its the engine control fuse its the fuel heater inside the fuel filter housing it can be unhooked and the fuse replaced and it will work like new untill u can replace that heater (fyi the post that runs up the center of the fuel filter and holds down the heater element is plasic and LEFT HAND TREADS) and can be removed with long needle nose pliers or build yourself a handy tool if you plan to replace a lot of these
