I just picked up 3 Fuel filters from my local stealership, they were $21 each! Two of them have the Delco# TP 1298B GM# 89060534. And one has Delco TP 1298B but GM# 98017645 and it is white instead of blue. It is made a little different also, do you think it's ok to use, or is it an old filter? Thanks

I just picked up 3 from my local dealer and they are all white. The date on them says Jan 08. It looks like they are going back to the Racor white ones again.

I just looked at the white one again, and mine says Jan. '08 too. I guess they are the newer filters, thanks for the heads up!

Found this on ebay, the Luber-finer LFF8736B is the exact filter as the new white TP1298B

I was told they had issues with the blue filter.... the threads for the blue filter where the water sensor went were stripping out when overtightened....

I thought it was the white filter that was stripping out the WIF sensor. It happened to me a while back and they replaced it with the blue filter.

Today, I went to pick up a filter at the dealership because I need to change it before I leave town in a couple days and didn't have time to order em online. So I give the guy the ACDelco # TP1298B and he comes back with a white one(#98017645) that looks like the old kind and it says Nov 2 2007 on it. I asked why they changed back to the white and he had no idea. But they had blue ones too with the 6 bigger holes. I ended up buying both. I've been using a blue one without any troubles for over 9,000 miles. It was a white one that I had WIF thread trouble with, but now it looks like they've gone back to those. Are these "new" white ones fixed? I don't know which one I should throw on before my trip. The blues have those bigger holes and look like they'd flow better. The white's have those tiny holes around the edge but have a "new" part number and date. This sure is confusing. The parts guys and service guys were totally clueless.

Looking at the threads on the filters where the WIF sensor goes, both have the same number of threads but the blue filters appear to have deeper threads. The white's threads are shallow and look like the WIF could be pressed right on. Anybody else notice this?
