just started today poping coming from tailshaft housing dont want to spend much money trying to buy new dodge need to save money. the truck is a 82 gmc 6.2 1500 please help

Just a guess but you might try putting a coat of white lead on the drive shaft splined part that fits into the tail shaft housing.White lead may be hard to find but you might try an old auto parts house or country hardware.

check your ujoints.

all of the u-joints are all good the noise is coming from the tailshaft but i was wondering if anyone has had a simular problem

I have had a lot of u joints feel good and tight but make noise and when I took them off they fell apart... Just stayed tight until removed.
