Has GM come up with a fix for the problem they are having with the memory of the seats and mirrors? If so what is the TSB?

Ddidn't know there was a problem on them now. However, Back in my gas days I bought an early Trailblazer, and the memory seats, and outside mirrors never worked. However, I did force GM to buy it back. Personally, I think all of the problems were associated to the body computer. It is expensive, and they will not want to replace it, but keep at them. If they refuse, do not hesitate to get the factory involved, and as a last resort, call the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.

Yes there is a problem. Memory settings changing randomly. Mine got so bad I had to turn off the memory recall and the memory exit.

GM is working on a new software release to fix the problem; dealers have been notified, but a release date is not available.

You guys mean I'm not crazy? You mean I can indeed read the book about the memory settings? I thought it was me until I read this! 2005 LT with an agenda all its own when it comes to mirror and set settings

my tech (shop foreman) and the service manager said don't hold your breath on that software fix..."It's been a long time since they "supposedly" started working on it and it will be a long time "if" they ever do get it."

GM is kinda like Big Oil with the gas prices on this issue... There hoping you just get used to it!

Mine is currently in the shop and I told them about the seats having a 'mind of their own'. They told me today that they reproduced it several times with both the seatback and lumbar. He said they had to order several parts which should be in tomorrow - I just hope that's the issue and not this software thing!

Uh O...I read the book...slowly, did what it said EXACTLY...top button easy exit #1 button driver seat, lumbar, mirror settings...Previously my son told me how everything worked, on his 2003 Silverado. Seems to be working OK. He says they went back to semi manual adjustments ie: pushing #1 or #2 button for recall because a couple of 400 pounders got SQUISHED by the steering wheel....I would have to say that could be an urban legend.

I finally got mine back last night, and they did not get the modules (two of them) for the seat in time. He said that they should be in next week. I am hopeful of this working as I never had any problems with either my '00 or '02 seats. If it was a software problem, I would think I should have noticed it then.

My seats are psychotic. Dealer said no fix at this time.

Luckily I've had no more issues after they replaced the two modules. There must be some other issues only on specific trucks?

While we're on the subject of seats, is anyone else having probs with the seat heaters? According to the manual, they are suppose to go off ONLY when you turn them off or turn the key off. Mine go off on their own!!! A real pisser when it's cold out!

think the heaters will only run for like 15 minutes at a time, and then they cycle themselves off. It is to keep from burning up the seats or something if something shorts out, I think.

My heated seats sometimes go off on their own, not related to how long they've been on either, sometimes soon after turning them on, sometimes later.. Had the seat module replaced, so far no more mind of its own on repositioning..

Ever accidently hit the heated seats switch when rolling your window down on a 90+degree day... talk about crack sweat ):h

Yes and Yes. Randomly seat heater turn off. And it does really sucks when you hit the heaters when you don't want them. Bad button placement.

Condition
Some customers may comment that with repeated cycling of the memory seat between the 'exit' and one of the 'presets', the position of the seat may "creep" forward or rearward out of expected adjustment.

Cause
There is a coding deficiency in the software for the memory seat module.

Correction
Technicians are to reprogram the driver seat module with an updated software calibration. The new service calibration was released with TIS satellite data update version 4.5 available April 18, 2005. As always make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.

Important: After programming is complete, move the seat all the way rearward and down, then bump the seat slightly forward and up. This position will be just off the end of travel hard stops. Reset both memory seat exit positions at this position. Having the seat set at just off the hard stops will aid in reducing the creep condition.
