Dad just got a 6.0. Seems it takes a bit of cranking for it to fire. Longer than my duramax and longer than the 2000 7.3. This is even if its sitting in a heated garage.
Man does the turning radius on the new 550's rock:ro)
Just curious if its normal.

Philip,
Yes it does, I had one before I bought this truck. It was a dreaded '03, but luckily I didn't have any probs. But they do take longer to fire than my Dmax.

My buddy has an '04 and it takes longer to crank than my DMAX. I originally thought that it might be that I was using an additive with a cetane booster and he wasn't using any additives but I guess not.

They take I bit longer to fire due to the hi pressure injectors. The PCM will not let the engine fire until the fuel preesure is up.

Amphib is correct on this one. PSD will take longer to fire due to the high pressure oil needed to run the injectors.

makes sense, thanks:)
Anyone know if the new 05 F550's window is the same as the older years? I'm trying to buy ventvisors for my pop for his B day but no body lists a 05. They look the same but you know how that goes:rolleyes:
