i'm wondering if you fellow pullers with roll pans and the reese tow beast hitch have a rule within your organization stating how far the hitch has to be from the furthest point of the pumkin? i believe my associations rule is for a minimum of 48' from the pumkin. I want to go with this setup but I think I'll be too close.

I dont have that rule Chad but i can take a measurement for you. To what part of the hitch has to be 48"?

here is the most common rule:

Hooking point must be at least 44 inches rearward from the centerline of the rear axle.

The one club here I think it is a minimum of 40" from center of axle.. and the center of my hook is about straight down from the back of the tailgate, and measures pretty close to 40" (ext. cab short box), so it's still the rear-most point, and still falls in that club's 40" rule...

yeah it looks like i'm sh*t out of luck for a roll pan then. i too have a short bed extended cab. i checked the rule book today and it does say 48'. oh well i guess.

I guess I forgot to mention I don't have the reese titan, its a curt mfg. magnum... So I can't say for sure how far ahead everyone moves them, but I would guess they would be somewhat similar.. I just posted what mine was I guess...

It also depends how far from the axle your current hook point is.... If you can only move your hook point ahead 2-3"; is it worth changing everything to gain the 2-3"??? or if you've got 8-10" to play with??

Chad,
I measured mine and it is 40" from centerline to the toe edge of my hook point.

This is with a Tow beast and roll pan. This was also moved forward, I moved it from the front bolt holes on the tow beats to line up with the rear bolt holes on the frame. (If you get what i am saying)
