Would 265/70/17's fit on a 2005 2500HD 4x4 GMC stock height? Right now the vehicle has 245/75/16's. I don't want to modify the vehicle in any way.

Thanks!

I would think so. They aren't that much taller (at most 1") than 265/70/16's that come on the 3500 SRW's.

For all practical purposes the LT265/70R-17 are the same size as the LT265/75R-16 tires.

See pics in my garage for LT265/75R-16(E) tires with stock suspension.

LT265/75R-16 ==> Nominal Diameter: 31.65"

LT265/70R-17 ==> Nominal Diameter: 31.61"

If you are planning to use the stock 17" x 7.5" wheels, they will fit without any changes to the T-Bars or any trimming. Stay within +25mm to +28mm offset and you'll be just fine.

Your speedometer will be OFF by approx. 3.7%

Check this website and see for yourself. http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

Stock wheels are:
16 x 6.5 (+28mm offset)
17 x 7.5 (+28mm offset)

Good luck.
