It's a vets truck with 200,000 :o:mile 4x4 reg. cab not sure what else it has, but need to know whats a good price?:D Is there any thing to look for? I heard 01 Dmax were junk.

Get the vin number and posted it in the VIN check forum here, you will be able to see if the injectors were replaced and possibly anything else that might have been wrong with it.

i was always told that 01 and 02's had a bunch of problems and were pieces of $hit...well, i bought an 02 and love it.

I bought my 01' with 180k for $13000.

notice that when people post how much they paid for thier vehicle notice what model it is. Extended Cab, Crew Cab, Reg Cab, Long/Short box. It all makes the difference in price. I paid 20k for my 01 duramax, its NOT JUNK!!!!!! (thats Ford) anyway my duramax is a crew cab, short box, with 122k miles.

Check the injectors first, and I'd say around 12-14k for your situation, reg cab w/ whatever box.

Paid $15k for an 01' GMC with 124,000 miles. Extra cab short box with leather and most options. Nice truck, never had injectors done. Does have a ticking sound under the hood, but it runs great!

01's did have some head gasket issues, but they definitely aren't junk... I've had some problems with mine in the past (hence the '03 engine) but my dad says it is the best truck he's ever owned and he wouldn't trade it for any other truck, except another duramax

I just picked up a super clean, one-owner '01 Chevy EC/SB ZF-6 in great shape with 111K for $19K. Had the injectors and flywheel done three months ago and runs like a champ.

I say go get 'em! The '01s and '02s have the best front end shape and that speaks volumes.

I just drove it back to New Hampshire from Iowa and boy, what a ride.

Good luck finding one that fits your needs. The reward comes in the first ride with that sweet sound as you pull away from the crowd.
