Hi guys, i have a decent coolant leak around the right rear of my truck, drips at the bell housing. It really starts dripping if i put the truck in a gear and move it a little, not too bad at idle. I replaced the top flex plate cover, with a new gasket, and it did not solve it. Any more idea's?

Could it be the water pump leaking through the weep hole. Had it leaking in the same place as you and that was my problem.

Also the coolant cross over is made into the transmission adapter plate at the back of the block. There are a couple of big o-rings that seal the coolant passages to the adapter. There is also a small block off plate on the adapter just above the starter. These are just a few of the places it could be coming from. Good Luck!

what rick said....
i had a water pump fail on mine. coolant was running down the crossover and dripping off the back of the motor. best bet is to dry it all up and crawl under at idle. however i also replaced the rings on the back of the crossover because the got pinched when i loosened the wp bolts off the front...
weep hole is on the bottom of the wp, down by the balancer on your truck

well i drug the motor back out this morning, and took the backing plate off.....it looks like its the big o rings in the backing plate were leaking, probably tweaked them when the motor was built on the engine stand with the stress on that aluminum plate.....does anyone know the part numbers for those o rings? I need those, and the gaskets that go from the backing plate to the oil filter assembly, there are two, one rubber, and one mls, i need bolt....as well as 8 new flywheel bolts, and the upper turbo oil return pipe seal. IF anyone knows these part numbers, or where i can find them, please help, cause my dealer is just about as worthless as tits on a bull, and gmpartsdirect don't have any diagrams, so what i don't know if i will get what i am needing. Thanks alot guys.
