burbanman 02-09-2008, 09:07 AM 22.5's Looks pretty good on that truck. Hope mine look that good when they come in.
gasuout 02-09-2008, 02:20 PM those are 22.5's on low pro tires ... probably 245's 22.5 , had similar tires in past.
looks good and big difference in ride over little 19.5's

Hey Gas,
I what size tires are you running now? I am getting ready to do 22.5's, and I am thinking the 295/75/22.5 tires should fit nice. Bridgestone says diameter is 40.9" tall, just hope they fit without having to lift it any
gasuout 02-09-2008, 11:20 PM if your 4wd they will fit . Im running and clearing 12R 22.5's that are 43" . about the same as 315's . Those will work and also get your rpm down and get you some better mileage. I average 10 towing now, was 8 mpg with 36" tires 245's like on that truck posted. If only 2wd not sure what the max tire you can clear is , you will have to try and see.
The bigger the tire on these truck seems to be the best ride also , I run my fronts at about 90 psi . and rears at 50-60 psi .

2004F550 02-10-2008, 09:28 AM are those rims the same as the 22.5's you get when you order them from the factory? or are these pictured a different design?
gasuout 02-10-2008, 02:17 PM Didnt think you could order from dealer 22.5 , if you can dont think those wheels are sold with truck . They look similar to some wheels a friend got for his kodiak , cant remember the manufacture. His look like those with the huge holes.
2004F550 02-10-2008, 03:55 PM its a new option from what the dealer says, either 19.5 or 22.5's from the factory, thanks for the help
gasuout 02-10-2008, 11:29 PM If those are option ,I would get them .
They look good . :thumb:
Pixall 02-11-2008, 03:19 PM Just ordered up 22.5 alcoas with toyo 610's. works out to be about 41 inch tires. got em through les schwab. they have to order them directly from alcoa for a grand total of $4596 tires included.
Doesnt seem too steep to me.
Also... i called DSU peterbuilt & GMC where i bought my 5500 4x4 in Portland Or., and according to them, 22.5's are NOT an option from the factory. They are a Meduim and heavy duty dealer only so i think they would know. then he gave me ramble about messing up my gearing with larger wheels and tires and blah blah blah!!!
