Being a newbie diesel guy I'm excited about all the possiblities with my LMM. However, after reading through the many threads I feel it would be smart to have a Tech2 as a fall back plan. Can someone tell me where I can buy one and maybe how much they are?

You probably won't like the price much. About $2400.00 Do a google/search on the web. Might be a vendor here that can get you one for a better price.

I think list price for the dealers to buy is around 2200,I think.

List price for US normal people is somewhere in the 4500+ range new.


they can be had on ebay for 1500-3k. If you dont get the CANdi module with it theres another 400-600

OTC has some good stuff out for the Genisys, its great for PCM and has good bidirectional control, but it hits a brick wall with the BCM, and some of the tranny stuff. Its about you best bet other than the tech 2 In a scan tool format. You are still looking at 900-2k to get into that set up but you will be able to use it on more than just GM.

My advice if you dont want to spend this much is to go with a lap top set up with, autoenginuity Pro software, which is one of the best out there in the after market.

I am on the look out for a deal on a Tech 2, as My OTC is having a hard time keeping up with the extended family's fleet.

Yes the parts dept can order you 1, But 1: it will be very expensive (they will charge what ever they want) 2: you might have to try a few before you get 1 who will.

Edit: What I am saying is the dealer can order on from their supplier whom ever that may be.

Any way try out Google sometime its your friend. In about 5 seconds it will show you a whole host of online vendors that will happy to send 1 right to your front door stoop. Also many of these same vendors will sell you software up dates on the future if you so need them.

you watch thoes 2 they will be north of 2.5k by auction end or not sold. But yeah thats the going rate for a good used 1. I have been watching Tech 2's for 3 months or so waiting for a good buy it now an will continue.

He or anyone can also post in the wanted section here as some who have moved onto EFI might want to sell one.

you have to rember if you are going to use it on an LMM you need the candi module to make it work.
