The last few tanks I have been getting 520-540 kms out of 90-92 Litres. I don't exactly drive the major highways, but do commute 70kms per day where my speeds are in the 70-100km/h range, I am not just farting around town with it. Truck is empty (no load) I am just a little concerned that this seems to be low. What kind of numbers are other people pulling and should I be expecting higher?

I mainly in town 90% of the time and I get 12.1 to 12.9 mpg every tank and that is with a thousand pounds of tools on board at all times.

mileage of just over 500kms is bang on with mine. I haven't gotten anymore clicks to a tank then 530kms! When I towed the sleds a couple of weekends I got there and back and thats it!! Thats only 400kms to a tank at 110km/h!

Don't be concerned, seems almost normal. Try driving a gas job a few weeks!

Plus in the winter they add more additives to make a winter blend (so no gelling) of diesel which lowers the mileage you get with any diesel.

I make about 13 in town with the burb (1996, 3.42 posi & 4L80E) and 22 highway in the summer @ 80mph. Thats with no boost from the turbo (vac pump bad) and with 228,500 on the original injectors. mileage might be better now that i put a spring on the wastegate to help control it until i can afford a turbo master or a new vacuum pump. New injectors will definantly help it some too. Never heard of more than 24 or 25mpg in a burb tho.

Interesting, thanks for the info guys. I am a fairly new owner to this truck and thought I should be pulling a little more out of it, but in reality I guess that is not too bad for a 6950 lb truck. As for driving a gas job... I was previously driving a 3/4 ton Ram with a 318 in it, so this is a far cry from that one!
