Here is a sheet I've been logging mine with trying different things 1st oil was dino oil Rotella with Baldwin filter elements on a Amsoil bypass kit, currently I'm running & just sent away samples today Amsoil synthetic, Amsoil bypass elements, 12K on oil now.

The only sample I've ever gotten back with recommendation to change oil on abnormal silica content was one I pushed out to almost 21K miles. With bypass filtration I'm happy with a 8k interval to start thinking about changing oil, I'll soon be installing a FS2500 kit and running synthetic Amsoil with it.

I changed mine every 4,000 +the filter. I was using Shell Rotella t and when I had an oil analysis (1st) done on my PSD at 294,000 mi it came out perfect

Minimum you should go is 7500 miles. Look at UOA's on BITOG to verify what I'm saying.

The DIC is set for aound 10k, give or take a bit. For my last change, which I did a little early, I did the math, and the DIC would have said to change the oil at 9,933 miles.
