: LB7 Front Pipe and Exhaust Noise Question

From what I understand, any non-CA LB7 engine will not have a catalytic converter.

With this said, I understand that traditionally a cat will help to quiet exhaust noise by quite a bit, is there an auxiliary muffler on the stock exhaust that kills the noise? With that said, if I were to put on an MBRP catback with the muffler delete pipe and stock front pipe, would it be amazingly loud?

Along the same lines, would there be a lot of noise on an MBRP Catback + Front Pipe + Muffler?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

non cali trucks have the cat delete pipe already. but the exhaust has a muffler. with out the cat it gets loud. the muffler does a little mufffling, but not what the cat does. so adding a mbrp and muff delete it should not get to much louder. a little not much.

Well, I have a cali 03 witha catback..it's definitly louder than a stock system...I would thing that w/o the cat it would be fairly loud..:D

So it sounds like a catback with the muffler delete on a non-CA LB7 will be loud, if I am understanding correctly.
