The wind grabbed the passenger side door out of my daughter's hand and sprung the upper door hinge where it is attatched to the body. It has pulled away about an eighth inch causing the front lip of the door to rub against the fender and the door won't mate up with the strike and catch to close.
How and I remove the door and try to bend the hinge to get the door proper clearance and get it aligned or will this have to go to the body shop?

Door removal is on the simpler side, BUT since the hinge area is obviously bent, I suggest visiting a couple local body shops. A QUALIFIED body shop will have the tool and experience to bend it back. The hinges are welded in place and provide no adjustment. Odds are, they will be able to do it in less than an hour. If you bend it yourself, you risk making it worse.

I have done a few home made fixes at home the seem to work. take a small 2x4 and place it under the door, not under the outside skin but the interior part. then take a longer 2x4 and place it on top of the inside step. and simply pry up on the 2x4 under the door. this has worked on the two trucks i've done it on. oh yeah this all has to be done with the door open obviously.
