I want to put a 4inch exhaust, bighead wastegate actuator and cold air intake on my max but i have a couple of questions. All from banks
1 How much increased sound will i get in the cab?
2 what guages do i need? boost?
3 Should i take the Cat off?

You will get some increased noise in the cab... The exhaust will have a deeper rumble than stock, kinda like a big block gasser.... I don't even notice it now.
If your gonna run a chip (edge, six gun, quad, etc.) you should probably have both boost and egt guages IMHO.
I can't comment on the CAT removal, mine does not have one..... but do a search and you find that many of the members here have removed theirs....

Im not running a chip because i dont want to also have to spend the money on a tranny upgrade in a few years. All i want to do is get some increased performance without going to a chip

Dont know what you will gain stock with just the banks beg head. Exhaust and intake will just make noise for you, amybe a bit less lag but not much. Gauges arnt needed stock(unless you want to run the big head then you need boost)
When I get my truck on the road I will be testing a widget that should improve response and decrease turbo lag. Its much cheaper than the banks stuff. If interested PM me and I will let you know how it turns out......
Do you have a lb7 or lly? you can put some lower hp programs on your truck and not hurt your stock trans.....

I have an LB7 and also anytime exhaust is put on an engine it helps with hosepower and torque. The faster air gets in and out the cleaner the burn. Also with a big head i would get more boost which would mean more air crammed in. I would also get an intercooler. and if i wanted lots more hotrsepower i would want LOTS not a measly little 40 or 50. But i dont need that much more hp just want sound and better flow

It does, and regardless what banks or K&N's marketing tells you your not going to notice any difference in HP with thier exhaust and intake;) Trust us :)
JMO but put an exhaust on it and enjoy the sound and save the rest of your cash.
Got Juice?

On a dyno LOAD CELL... the net gain from an intake and exhaust only is around 17BHP.
17 RWHP is pretty spendy for 1300.00 IMHO.... there are better ways to squeeze more power... cheaper too.

even 17 sounds on the high side on an otherwise stock truck. even at 5hp+- accuracy
I ran identicl times back to back at the strip from running a stock box that had been swisscheesed and a factory paper acdelco filter and running a stage 2 AFE intake.

True enough.... although it could be 17HP stronger before peak RPM.):h
Still... too much Blingabling and work for a measly gain at best.
Spend that $$$ on 1 module and be beyond that.... even Juice on timing only has that much power.:D

I ran my LB7/Cat very hard for a year with an Edge box.
The day I installed my exhaust system and misplaced my Cat is the day I limped the trans for the first time.
The turbo spooled up so much fast it was mint!
Later I added the Big Head and from that point on became an addict! ):h

there are better ways to squeeze more power... cheaper too. Much cheaper ways on an LB7....I can sell you a cheap set of locking pliers for under $10.00.......Genuine JuiceGrips(tm) will set you back a little more, but I have heard that they are worth the investment http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif
