Jperry 02-07-2008, 09:15 AM I am not in your area but I just installed my buckstop a couple months ago and love it. Only complaint I have was the price but the fit and finish was excellent.

twinbubba 03-25-2008, 07:45 PM Bump one more time in hopes that someone near me has a Buckstop bumper. I am close to ordering on but I sure would like to see one in the flesh before I commit to $2000.

elk hunter tom 03-25-2008, 08:58 PM personally $2000 bucks for a bumper is stupid but to each his own but i will admit they look sweet!!
twinbubba 03-25-2008, 10:01 PM Stupid is as stupid does! :D
The Buckstop has what I feel I need in a bumper for a heavy duty truck, the ground clearence I need on my hunting lease, able to take a good smack without leaving a dimple or shattering a piece of plactic, it doesn't look like a cattle guard or someone chopped off the front of a military amfibious assualt vehicle. Some people think nothing about spending 3-5 thousand dollars to jack their truck up and put monster tires on their truck where you need a step ladder to get in it. As you said "to each his own".

If you are going to offroad and plow down brush, small children, etc I'd recommend getting it sprayed with bed liner. I made my own but had it Linex'd. Expensive but I've also repainted older winch bumpers multiple times due to deep scratches.

Rebel 03-26-2008, 11:34 AM x2 on the linex I've had my buckstop for one winter and half a summer and the powder coat is already flaking off and rusting. Its a nice bumper just has a bad powder coat.

The bumper i got does all of the above and was only $680.
IMO those bumpers dont look good at all, and the price sucks.
camozuki 03-26-2008, 01:37 PM Which bumper did you get johnwayne?

I beg to differ. If you are talking about the bumper pictured in your Garage it doesn't appear to have much ground clearence at all, in front of the tires and particularly in the middle below the grill. And if that is a Frontier bumper, I looked at them so I am not surprised it only cost $680. But as previously stated "to each their own". IMO those diamondplate bumpers don't look good at all.

it is a tietjens.
just a fyi "twinbubba" there is at least 18" from the bottom of the bumper to the ground. That should be enough to clear about anything that is necessary.
Oh ya, and i would never buy a piece of junk frontier. I like the thick pipe and metal on mine better.

If that cattle guard of yours has 18" of ground clearance I will eat my Buckstop when I get it.
I would pay to see you try to cross the creeks on my hunting lease with that thing hanging off the front of your truck.
By the way, why are you even posting on this thread that is asking for Buckstop owners to reply?
If you are happy with your cattle guard, that is great, personally I can afford to purchase what suits me, not you.

P.S. What are you doing on a diesel forum anyway when you don't own one? Diesel envy? :D
John Wayne 03-26-2008, 10:37 PM I dont know what your problem is but there is no need for your attitude. If you want to continue this pm me instead of making yourself look like idiot.
On second thought dont even bother me again with your ignorant remarks.
diesel625 03-26-2008, 11:42 PM better get a big spoon, it has 21.5" of ground clearence. i really don't care for either of the bumpers, but if you are going through creeks as bad as you say, why do you want a bumper that leaves the front suspension exposed? it seems like the purpose of a replacement bumper is to protect your vehicle, not leave it vulnerable.
P.S. This is not only a diesel site. If you don't want opinions, don't ask for them.

I didn't ask for opinions, I asked for Buckstop owners in the DFW area to respond. Only one person that has responded has a Buckstop so.........Well, you know what they say about opinions........
