I took my truck to the dealer due to seeing fluid dripping from the rear drive shaft at the tranny, also to have the tailgate straps replaced. Prior to them doing work the tranny gauge would read 150 degrees at normal operating temp, with it hitting 180-200 degrees going uphill with my plow on the front. I got my truck back and when I came home from work, up the hill with plow on, 36 degrees outside the tranny temp should have been 200*, it barely moved above 100*. I plowed 5 driveways, agains it should have been around 180-200 but was just barely above 100. Any ideas on what happened at the shop? Any suggestions or help appreciated.

do you have a infared thermometer? Drive it around and get her good and hot(or what you would expect is good and hot) and shut her down and zap the pan and the cooler line coming out of and going into the trans. I think I have those readings somewere in a post with my trans reading around 190*......or Mike might have em. Might want to pop the main elec plug going into the trans(rear pass side) and shoot it with some electric contact cleaner.
You use TH when plowing? It dosnt matter for drives or if your not going to come outa 1rst gear but i plow and travel with it in TH most times since it locks the converter up mid way through 2 and raises the shiftpoints a bit.
Edit: first is to make sure the temp is what the gauge is saying......

Cant find the post or my old PM's to Mike. My truck is outa commision so I will be of no help. Maybe you were low on fluid and it was causing exessive heat?
