Mines not cracked but GM believes it to be warped! Clyde (SoCalDieselTech) has a new one on order and currently we have plans for him to install it next Thursday. I'll try to remember to take the camera and snap a couple if we can actually see anything.

Was there a symptom that caused you to discover this?

Was there a symptom that caused you to discover this? Most cracked flex plates/flywheels that I've encountered sound just like a valve tapping but the frequency of the tap does not typically follow the camshaft pattern (ie-1/2 crank rpm), but tends to more closely follow the revolutions of the crank (which makes sense as that is where it is attached)
But not always - sometimes it's only noisy under load
It is not always easy to isolate, but when you do, it is always a huge relief because it usually makes things sound worse than they really are (mimics engine trouble related sounds)

I first noticed a loud ticking noise coming from between the trans and the engine. It progressivly got worse. It did go away when I put it in reverse.
