ok so i need any help as quick as possible, im late for school and my truck wont run. I started it this mornin and it started harded (its 2 degrees out) then shut off, tried it again samething. well it was low on fuel so i walked to the gas station and filled my one gal. can up with diesel. tried startin it and now it wont even start then die, just cranks. I tried priming it but nothing happened, no diesel came out the primer either after sittin there forever primin it. Could there be water in the line and it froze?

If you cant get a prime from the fuel filter then your fuel may have gelled. Do you use a fuel additive? If its that cold out there you should be using one and using the block heater at night to keep the engine warm.

Probable causes:
Gelled Diesel
Water In Fuel
You are way out of fuel
Solutions:
Plug truck in right now.
Fill truck up with alot more than 1 gallon....try to get 10, prime pump. If nothing comes out, use Power Service 911 according to Directions. It is the Red Bottle. This should solve both the gel problem and if you have frozen water in the fuel. Get a new filter while you are at the Parts store, and put that on.
Let us know what happens.

Are ya sure it is primed? Did you get a new filter? How much fuel did you put in?

did not get a filter but i am sure it is primed, had a steady flow of fuel come out the bleeder screw. if it were the filter why would it run great yesterday then not even start today?

Yup...need to get a new filter. or at the very least you need to use PS 911...the red bottle...but I would not bother with the old filter. Jsut get a new one.

i would also agree w/ a new filter and priming it while someone cranks it, that happened to mine a few times.

You probably have air between the fuel filter and the cp3. there is a schrader valve on the front that you could try to bleed off of. My guess is it needs to be primed. May pay money you don't need to if this is the case.

FIXED IT!!!!!! haha i think my autostart box got screwed up this mornin because it did not wait for my glow plugs to shut off before it cranked and it started pretty bad but i diconnected the batts for 30 sec and hooked them up then waited a few hours and it cranked for a bit at first then started right up! thank god i dont have to go to the stealer!! lol

probably right, i really think i had water in the line and it froze then it ran it out of fuel, then when i went to prime it i didnt prime it all the way
