Few days ago I noticed that my truck is idleing at 500rmp hmm I though it was cold and it was normal...then today I started driving after 15min of warmup at -30c temp and at the lights I noticed my tach is 0 hmm..I rev up and it going up....so I park and set my high idle to 1200 and it shows only 700rmp so I know it is off now....I restart the engine just to see if it will reset and it did....

so am I looking for new cluster soon or is that something else and can it be fixed......no modification has been done to the truck for weeks....and it running stock...62000 km on the truck.....thanks

Your just off warranty - I would take it to the dealer and see if he'll at least look at it and help out a little.

I just got my second new cluster last night. Now the oil pressure gauge is bad in the new one. Luckly my father-in-law is a parts manager at the dealer I go to so he is sending the old in to get fixed. The only thing wrong with it is that the hourmeter has 700 more hours on it than its suppost to. On the orginal cluster the speedo went bad. He also told me the clusters are on back order so it might take 3-4 weeks if thats what you need.

I read in this post http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21639
that the instrument cluster was covered under emmisions warranty up to 100k so you should be good to go.
