I have a 94 6.5 TD that I blew the motor. So I replaced it with a 97 6.5 TD now it wont run right? It starts and idles fine but once you go to accelerate it wont speed up at all? :confuzeld
My question is whats the difference between the injection pump in a 94 and a 97? Thanks!

The '94 may have had the 5068 pump that will not interchange with the others. Not sure what symptoms that would cause though.

The 5068 pump will just barely run with 5521 progrmming... I doubt a 5521 will run any better with 5068 programming.
Any chance you can tell us what the numbers on the injection pumps are?
Format is DS4 831-5XXX

Everyone says you gotta use a tech one to adjust the injection timing... Whats the difference from the tech 1 and a regular scanner?
Trucks at my dads auto buisness.. He has a motis and it reads the timing.. Am I missing some thing?

The scanner needs to be able to do a timing "re-learn". Many aftermarket scanners have the ability to do this, I am not sure what the motis is capable of doing on a 6.5.

Is your 94 a 3500 with an "F" in the VIN? IF so, it may have the 5068 programming. Don't you have the old engine (IP) to look at?
