With all the overheating problems with our trucks. I was just wondering if anyone tried this stuff. I use it in my dirt bike with great results. It pours into the radiator and mixes with the coolant. It says it will reduce temps by as much as 20 degrees. Just wondering if it is compatable with the new style coolant.

Dave, how ironic that you mention this. I was wondering the same thing for this summer.

I tried some stuff called 40 below. $20.00 a quart in my '83 chevy K10 with a 305 and 410:1 rear end. It seemed to work good here in central Cal in the summer with outside temps up to 117. I had to use 2 quarts. I put it in with the antifreeze. They recomend draining the antifreeze and useing only water. I go home to Utah alot so I didn't want to use only water. I have heard only good things about Water Wetter and I plan on trying it this summer.
I too have heard only good things about water wetter. It is supposed to protect all the metal surfaces inside the cooling preventing "Hot Spots", cavities where air is trapped in the system, leaving that portion unprotected from coolant flow. These contribute to head gasket failure and head cracks due to the much greater expansion at the HS compared to the surfaces around them. Race car's have been using this stuff for years.

I've always used the Red Line water wetter. The psychological results are astounding and since Red Line is compatible with the orange juice, the piece of mind is priceless.

I noticed about a 10 deg difference when towing after I added water wetter. Also, I noticed a big difference after I added a cowl induction hood. Lets the heat out quite nicely on those long hills!

YEs, it will workl. it changes the surface tension in the cooling system liquid. So it stays in better contact with the metal surfaces. There are tradeoffs to using it. I am sure a google search will explain it better than I can here.
i have used it. A few drops of liquid dish soap does the same thing to the surface tension.
Ever recall filling a glass all the way to the top/ Notice how the top level of the fuild is curved, hihger in the middle? For some reason i think orange juice was the easiest to see the results in.
If you do it with water, then add the water wetter, or a few drops of dish soap, then see the difference. it may give you an idea of what is happening in the cooling system
