Does anyone know if the latest GM recall for steering/braking is for our Duramax trucks?

I saw on TV that it was for the 2000 year only

No. I was at the dealership this morning. My wife works there. It is only for 2000 model 3/4 and 1 ton. Potentially bad power steering pump. Shafts break when wheels are bound / turned to the stops and brakes are applied heavily.

Thanks, I guess I won't waste a worry over it.

AUTO INDUSTRY REPORT: GM recalls big vehicles
January 12, 2005
General Motors Corp. is recalling 98,221 Chevrolet and GMC pickups, vans and SUVs because the steering wheels and brakes might not work properly, federal safety regulators said Tuesday.
All the vehicles involved are from the 2000 model year. They are the Chevrolet C/K and Silverado pickups and Suburban SUV and the GMC Savana van, Sierra pickup and Yukon XL SUV.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a hydraulic pump driveshaft can fracture in the vehicles. That causes immediate loss of power steering assist and can result in loss of braking assist. Drivers still can steer and use their brakes but with difficulty.
GM plans to notify owners about the recall next month. Dealers will repair the vehicles for free.
