I can not get my fuel filter on. How do I push it up enough and twist? It is a napa. It is driving me nuts, I read the DIY thread but it didnt help.

Make sure you pulled out the old middle rubber washer.

Gotta put some pretty good pressure while you thread it on.Make sure it's going on straight too.

i have only changed one on my truck so far, but i thought that having two left hands would help.:)

Mine was so difficult to get on that I had to remove the filter mount and put the filter on outside of the truck.

You may need to lie down on top of the engine. Put something on it and lie there.
It is easier to line up the notches when you are closer. Also, open the bleed valve but don't take it all the way just enough so when you push it, the air goes out. Oh ya, make sure your inside screen is not attached to the old one and put it back in there.

Good luck.

There is no need at all for excessive force; it should start on without any problems. If you are having to push up with great force, you've left one of the old gaskets on there. Most likely the inner one.

Take out the battery. Only one bolt and the two leads and out it comes. Be careful and wrap the leads cause they're still hot from the other battery. With the battery out you can get two hands down there and exert more pressure. I know it's a bitch. I did mine a week ago and my hand still hurts. It's got to be absolutely centered and straight, of course.

I remove the air filter duct, use a stool to stand on to get at the filter easier removing/installing. When Installing the new filter just line it up straight, then a swift upward motion, then start screwing it on. Mine seems tight to, and yes, I make sure the old gasket is removed
Hanger and TheTech, thanks for the grin
