I only have my gtech pro times which are suppose to be quite accurate. I'm too embarassed to go to the track cause I figured being there, people will think that I think my truck is hot sh%t and so powerful. I wasnt worried when I had my Denali cause it was hot sh%t! Anywho gtech said 19.1sec

best I have witnessed was a high 17, from a truck with less done to it than mine. I may get some times this year.

Hmmmm, 16's sounds like the 2008 6.5L Challenge to me. Is it time to start a 6.5 yearly challenge maybe? This could be the first ever yearly 6.5 challenge to all the 6.5 owners out there to legitimately run a pass, recorded as proof, and anti up to show their success. 1/4 mile pass too, not 1/8 mile;)

In answer to your question, Duramaxin, your 94 has an electronic pump, a Stanadyne DS-4. Your PCM has a chip in it, so you can change chips to add considerable HP.

However, you should really read a whole bunch on here first... the FAQs are a rich source of information on these trucks, and what you learn there might keep you from melting your 'intiminator 1994 chevy silverado 6.5'

The short version?

You need to change exhaust - add a 3" mandrel-bent downpipe and minimum 3.5" (pref 4") back. There's an entry on that in the FAQs.

You need to tear the snorkle out of your air intake (see 'tech tips' on Kennedy Diesel's website) Think about a different filter, too... that flat-panel thing you got sucks. There is quite a bit of stuff on it in the FAQs.

== Diesels are just big air pumps... if you can't get air in and exhaust out, you aren't gonna make any power to speak of.

You also need gauges. Some people don't read the FAQs, so they don't know that the gauges mean, but it's nice to have them because then you can tell your mechanic what the readings were when things exploded.

You don't say if your 94 is an "F" or an "S" ... if you don't know, you need to read the FAQs.

If it's an F, add a Heath hp4 chip and Turbomaster for an instant wake-up call. If it's an
"S", then you need to do some monkey-work with the EGR subsystem first, or, failing that, you can add a chip without doing the turbomaster. There's lots of info in the FAQs on making your vacuum-wastegate operate properly.

Finally, once you've done all that, you could add some marine injectors for that little extra bit of fuel, and an intercooler to keep those IATs down.

And yeah, there's info on those in the FAQs, too.

For what it's worth.

Drop the tude, dude

we like to keep it friendly here, 99% of your newbie to the 6.5 stuff is covered via FAQ or search including performance upgrading, obvious you don't know nuffin bout the 6.5, read up in FAQ stickies and it won't take long to get up to speed, no EFI live

your 94 will require a replacement chip

I'd be game for heading to SIR, and maybe even make a pass with the 6.5 just for record sake so I could compare my Gtech and also before I do too many mods. NOt that I'm doin much but one day I want the exhaust and HP4 and HO injectors, thats about it. At any rate regardless I'd be interested in goin to see your 6.5 make a few passes. I love street legal night. Lemme know when you plan on going. I could tape the passes for ya or something haha.

I had better get off my fat azz and get to work on the pickup. I have been busy at work and ...... oh yeah at work #2. My truck managed a spinning (yesser all fours) 17.2 at the airport races in Swift Current and an unofficial (but video taped Gtech run) 16.31/87.5 on the public pavement on a very cool night with a tailwind. I never had a chance to test the quarter times out with the methanol turned on before the tired old mill finally threw the crakshaft out the bottom of the engine.

Here is a link to the unofficial run: http://video.dieselplace.com/search/beating+on+the+old/0/c1e30aec-6f39-4284-9552-08cda4b07a17.htm

I guess I should spend some time working on my stuff, I have been helping many others get ready for the racing season. Here is what I was doing on Saturday when I was home:

Where exactly are you? I live on the road most of the year and have a very keen sense of smell for burnt rubber, it helps pass the time. :D

Especially now that they have no more Mustangs or Camaros left in the fleet. :D

Who said you can not get 500 ponies out of a 350 on pump gas anyway? Well I guess that would have been me before my adventure on Saturday.
