I got talking with the guy at the Allison shop while buying some TranSynd and filters. He said the last Allison 1000 rebuild they did ran about $1800. That is clutches and steels, no major parts. They also sell a rebuilt tranny to swap in for around $2010. Not too bad considering that a 4L60e rebuild can often run around $1500, and I'm sure a 4L80e is a little more. I would guess that the MTBR on the Allison would be twice or more what it is for the Hydramatic trannies also.

Talk to Eric(dmaxallitech) He will rebuild for not much more and throw some goodies in there at the same time. I dont think he has killed his with a pretty bad assed stack but you should talk to him. He is in michigan

You wont get any of the good stuff on the 4L60E for 1500.00. Beware.

Wont get much of a rebuild on the Alli for that either... At least not a good one...
