Why bother, I just yesterday cranked mine (factory) about 6 full turns & got 1 1/2 inches & still could go more(just wanted to level it some) I still have yet to space down the shocks & tomorrow i'm going to get the alignment checked. Overall VERY EASY to do. It's not raised so much as to cause problems with the CV joints & the ride to me feels almost the same(no worse) my 2¢ worth

Pevoman is correct, just paint your green (that way you still get some placebo effect). The stockers crank more than an alignment can reel in. So what's the point.

They worked very well for me, I got them at gmdieseltech.com.

to waste all you money and cause grief installing them and then going through the pain of having an alignment done again, just so you can add a line to your sig....

after you bottom out the stock keys, then you will have to put in the green keys if you want to go more.

I don't know why I waste my time asking questions and useing useless products when all I have to do is listen to the grand master of everything, masterpeepee or whatever you are. You're going to be the first ever on my ignore list! I'm going to miss you!

PEVOMAN, how did your alignment look after you adjusted your T-bars? I was going to crank mine about 3 turns but didn't want another alignment done. What would you, or anyone, recommend the max amount of turns before definately getting an alignment? Or would you recommend an alignment even if it is only 1/2 turn?
Thanks,
Jeff

I installed the GREEN Keys and had an alignment done post installation. The shop said the alignment was "not off very much" , "not too bad for a factory alignment, we have seen much worse". I did not tell them that I chaged the "keys" to see what they would say, I told then it was stock.

OK, so can someone just clear these "green" keys up for me real fast. Will they add more lift in the front over the stock keys or not? If you don't want to put on a full lift and just want a couple more inches can you just put like 2 or 3 inch blocks in the rear and these new keys to level it out in the front? Thanks Chris

any turns and you "should" get a alignment done. that is not saying that every one does, but you should

i had 11,000 miles on my cranked front end before i changed tires. i turned mine 5 turns. my out sides where rounded but not to bad for a 7k truck and 11,000 miles.

green keys will lift the front of your truck something like 1.5-2" more than your stock ones can. nto a whole lot more but for 45 bucks its well worth it. a complete "poor mans" lift is under 100 bucks. the reason i call it a poor mans lift is because its 1400$ less and u get 3" out of it.

Beat on me at will, I'm not trying to make it personal. It is what it is.

Not to restart anything, my stock keys are able to crank the vehicle beyond the height that the alignment adjustment limits can correct for. If 2" is about the limit of alignment, with another inch to go, dead issue for me.

Sorry if I offended anyone, I can be a know-it-all at times. Many of you have years more wisdom than I, i learn from every day. I didn't know there was an ignore list, thanks I learned something.

green keys =waste of money, as others have said before you can only go so high before you run out of alignment and your cvs are running at steep angles, now take it off road, hammer down, get sudden bite, break cv. done this two many times before on my other chevys, the stock keys give you plenty of lift up and down, remember with the green keys you will not be able to take them all the way down again because they bottem out before the stockers do. the only real advantage would be you do not have as much of the adjusting bolt being used but I do not think this is much of a advantage. Lots of people running tires on this site in the 285, 305 and I think even a couple 325 s with stock keys just have to do a little triming

That answers it for me, I dont need them!! Do I even need to turn the stock ones to male 285's not rub?

Thats why I am asking I just want to run 285 through the fall and winter and put my 245 back on for spring and summer towing my fifth wheel.

Thanks for all the feedback, I am in to keep it simple stupid!!):h

I did a friends 5 turns, no trimming, no rubbing 285s on stock wheels, make sure you jack the front of the truck up to unload suspension then crank them up.

I'm running 285 REVO's on my stock rims.

They did not rub for quite awhile at stock height. Had a full lock to left coming out of a steep downhill driveway about a month after putting the REVO's on, they just touched the inner fenderwell.

I cranked them up 3 full turns, more for looks than clearance. They were still in allignment when I took it in to check.

Got my front end realigned today. Camber & toe-in was outta whack on the right side due to the 6 full rotations (1 1/2 in lift) they did tell me that it was still within the adjustment limits though

Good post, I think most will find limits at about 7-8 turns.

Michael must have edited it and eric didn't quote it.

Green key will give you more height but if you go higher than the stock key allow you get risque
