Where is everyone installing their lift pumps at on the new LMM. I am having a hard time finding a good location to place it. If you have a pic or a good description were people are installing this system that would be great.

Thanks

Jody,

How far does it hang down. It looks like its in the middle. What did you bolt the system to? I have the FASS system so the brackets are probably slightly different.

doesn't hang low, none of the pump or filters hangs below the frame. The bracket they use sandwichs to the frame so you can mount it anywhere on the frame that's clear for the bracket. Two pieces, one "L" shaped to go against the frame and mount the pump setup, then a matching rectangular flat piece that goes on the other side of the frame; four bolts/washers/locknuts (one at each corner) hold the two pieces against the frame, sandwiching it very securely, so no drilling either. I mounted it back just in front of the fuel cooler since these pumps push better than pull, plus that's where the lines you tap into are located.

If your concerned about the unit hanging too low you might want to look at TTS' system. That is what I have and it is very small compared the above system. Plus it involves no cutting of the OEM lines.

there's no cutting of lines on mine either, no drilling of holes, nothing. I'm not enamored with Steve Coles stuff, probably works fine, but not as nice as what I bought in my opinion. Plus I couldn't get a single e-mail answered from those guys. His dual pump kit doesn't support as much power as the Airdog, and costs more. Additionally, the Airdog gives you an extra fuel filter.

Thanks for the pics and the information. I am going to see if I can mount it in the same location. I will let you know how it goes.

Nice pictures from your installation and some great insights on how the Air Dog performs. I'll be getting mine ordered this week.

I just got everything installed and set. I went to start the truck and it ran for a minute then it shut it self down probably due to lack of fuel. Anybody have any ideas what might of happen. When I primed the filter it looks like their is a lot of form in the fuel. Any Ideas?

Another question is one filter should have diesel in it and the other should be left empty right? I know its a stupid question, but I am not for sure.

Thanks

On the Airdog install I didn't prime it at the stock filter, but I did run the Airdog for 30-45 seconds to prime the lines before turning the engine over. It may be that there's an air pocket in your main line due to taking the lines apart for the install, and it has to be bled out some more. Mine did not do that though, it self-bled as I sure didn't bleed it.

On the tank the bigger line of the two is the main fuel line correct? Thats the one I hooked up to the system.

One more thing, did you put fuel in the filter that collects water or just left it empty?

I did not fill either filter, as turning the pump on will do that automatically. It sure wouldn't hurt but if you've run the pump for any time it's full now. After a few seconds all the air was out of the system and the bypass fuel stream was smooth, the pump sound got quieter and even, etc. Then I fired up the truck.

Ok Thanks for your help. I will play with it a little longer. Did you use the Large fuel line?

yes, the larger line coming out of the tank was closest to the driveshaft, that is the main feed line. That goes to the inlet of the lift pump. The outlet of the lift pump goes to the same size line which has a quick-connect just behind the fuel cooler. No real way to mix up lines as the quick-connects won't work with the others, they're too big. Just make sure the line from the top of the tank is all the way clipped on (it's tough to get it to clip on, at least mine was) or it will suck air. Make sure you have the outlet correct to the main larger hardline that goes up front to the CP3. If you hooked the bypass line to that, you would have an issue.

Hey camcojb Did you get the F100 or the FP150? Can you hear it at idle? How is the noise level overall. I am planning on getting one of these.

I have the Airdog, with the 150 pump. You can't hear it with the truck running, pretty quiet when it's on without the truck running.

Anybody with a FASS system have had this same problem?
