I'll be getting a new flywheel soon (imagine that) and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to replace the clutch as well. The truck has 43K on it with a fair amount of heavy towing. I'm having the dealer contact me once the clutch is removed and I'll run down there and inspect it. Does anyone know the thickness of a stock clutch disc so I can measure? I know usually the pressure plate and disc are replaced as a set but would it hurt to just replace the disc? I'm sure with GMs record on their flywheels I'm sure that I'll be in there again before 100K.

I have 46,000 + on my stock clutch and flywheel I do some heavy towing but I have no boxes on the truck. The clutch so far is holding up well so far.

I know it's off topic. But my toyota tacoma has 178K miles on the factory clutch and feels, pulls just like it did new. (course it's 178K hwy miles) But still impressive IMO.
