on my 06 allison 6 speed it is leaking oil out of the seal where the shaft that goes to my gear selector linkage. Can that be replaced without tearing the tranny apart? thanks

SmokinDuramax 02-02-2008, 08:31 AM ttt wawa 02-03-2008, 01:39 AM the shifter shaft seal can be replaced without tearing down the trans. the seal costs about 2 bucks and takes about 20 minutes to replace. mind that you note the position of the old seal in regards to how far into the trans it is installed. also clean the shifter shaft with a piece of scotchbrite before you install the new seal SmokinDuramax 02-03-2008, 10:19 AM thanks for the knowledgable info. | ||
