Did you fuel up with the engine running? There is what Furd used to call an anti-slosh module that processes the fuel sender reading and averages the output to the gauge. If you fuel up when engine running, the anti-slosh module constantly samples the fuel level, averaging the output to the gauge, which causes the gauge to slowly rise.

Shut engine off next time you fuel up and this phenomenon should go away as the first level sample taken will be with a full tank

The first 2-3 months I had my truck when I filled it up I would have to drive it 5 minutes for the gage to move to full. It eventually stopped being slow and showed full by the time I got back into the truck.

I think there was something in the owner's manual that addresses this, mine does it too but it only takes a minute or so to show full, even while fueling w/engine off.

Mine does the same thing when you fuel while running.
