Whats the best Bang for your Buck? If I want to run with the 100 horse soot throwing tune in at all times as a daily driver (unloaded) and the occasional light towing? I do not want to hurt my trans and am interested in bolstering the Allison to an extent. ;) Right now I've got more pertanent aspirations to attend to than installing a big beefy kit but what can I do short term for some boulevard fun? I'm also interested in stacking someday, but not with the stock settup, I'm already worried about running at 100 horse as it is.

Running a 100 HP tune aggressively ALL the time will shorten your Allison life span. What do you run the Predator setting on?As of late they have had some decent tunes.

For plug and play "best buck" wise, I'd go Edge.

Short term leave the box turned down to no more than 90 HP. Long term if 100hp is really all you want a good single disk and a transgo kit will hold ya good. suncoast stage 2 is economical and will hold ya fine.

But its better to over build since we all seem to want more power after we get bitten by the bug......

I guess the answer is "will you retrain yourself " ??? once you add the power, most said we would and we were kidding ourselves http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif

Buy as much as you can afford when you upgrade it, overbuild it so you don't worry about pushing the limit,

Suncoast, ATS or TTS all have packages. You can buy a complete unit with full warranties and have a local shop swap it or they can recommend a qualified and authorized shop to install a kit.

It is the best money spent and you can spend as littlle or as much as you want.

I beleive that most complete tranny's will run from $4K up and dmaxallitech stated that a complete Suncoast Stage IV is around $4200 for the kit installed.

The answer is dependant on how much BANG your BUCK will hold.

Right at this moment in time I'm completely satisfied running on the 100hp setting. :D I've dropped down to the 40hp setting for haulin' the sleds arround during the winter. :( I did not have the Predater until a few months ago and boy was I satisfied with it.):h Now that I'm on the low setting I'm itching to put it back... Really bad!!! I want to do so many things to the truck right now and the bolting up a high dollar trans is gonna stop all of it for a while. I would consider bolstering it by throwing oh, I don't know $1500 or so at it to keep things safe enough to run 100hp or even just the 85hp setting If I could. This is my first diesel and my big blocks never made enough torque to slip the trans like this one can.

i'd go with a transgo kit and a converter. i ran way more than a 100 extra HP for 25000 miles and it held up great.

What kind of dough will such an upgrade require D-Power (installed)? I've heard some good thing sabout th etransgo and I realize the converter is weak.

transgo and single disk will be just shy of 2500..maybe in the 22-2300 range.
Depends on what if any damage is done.

That being said, its better off to just run it until your ready to do it right. 100hp will live along time in there if your smart with it.

God I love this site!!! You guys are awesome!!! I've had such mixed responses on snowmobile message boards where all people do is bash one another and if they disagree with your opinion they attack you as if they know it all. Very few indiviuals are helpfull. It's almost sickening how helpfull you bunch of Dieselheads can be. I really appreciate the feedback.

You know - you're right! This is a good site! Very well managed and give all members credit because very little bashing goes on here. Even though we disagree at times, it is done in an adult manner.
