I've got my PPE set on level 2, and i seemed to notice the tranny slipping when under hard throttle, should it slip at all with that tune?

How long has the programmer been on the truck? The tranny has to 'relearn' the new power and you've got some big tires on it also

Do you use the tow/haul button? That'll lock up the converter and take some of that "slipping" feeling away.

I think Jason may be right. For some reason, the PPE on level 2 took a long time for the tranny to learn despite selecting the quick learn. I thought mine was slipping, but it was more of a flare up between shifts.

It didn't do it when I went up to level 3 and then level 4.

The programmer has been on it for a couple months but the pick up doesn't get drove everyday, it was more of a flare up and yes tow/haul did take some of the feeling go away, i'd like to put a trans go in it, would it make it shift hard?

Did level 3 smoke more than 2?. Also what are your EGT's running I don't have any guages but i'm not to worried cause I dont pull alot, but when I do its a 24ft cattle trailer, do I need to worry about anything?

The tranny will only shift hard if u tune it to shift hard.

So the trans go won't effect the shift firmness? I don't know if i can adjust the trans with PPE

Smoke wasn't much different - lvl 4 was good for some though.:p: Towing my fifth wheel, I dropped it to level 2 and didn't have any egt issues, but I didn't hit any good hills or get on it hard either. I just let the truck do the work. That said, I personally wouldn't tow on any level other than stock without gauges. Everyone's trucks are different, so you'll never know until you see what's happening.

I remember reading somewhere that some guys had the flare up, but they got rid of it by getting the Hot+2 ET upgrade. Couldn't tell you if they stock or built trannys though. I would call Dan @ PPE about the flareups and see what he says.

I didn't notice any difference with Transgo Jr. I believe you need EFI to write up a TCM tune or custom programming from one of the vendors. I could be wrong though.
