: BMDMAX's Guide to Gauge Hotness
BMDMAX 01-09-2005, 11:16 PM I finally got the LLY gauge install done. So far they are working well, max stock boost and EGT has been 23 pounds and 1000 degrees. The LLY sure seems to do some funky stuff with the VVT as the boost seems to move around quite a bit especially at shift points.
I did do a gauge writeup on the install. Mods, feel free to move to the DIY forum but this does apply to P&P too. ;)
Check it out and any feedback is appreciated. Let me know if I need to make any edits.

Max Power 01-09-2005, 11:35 PM That is so F)(*%'n cool. Now I need to order another tripping mount.
Max Power 01-09-2005, 11:45 PM See if you can get your turbo hot enough to melt that loom ;) I did. :(
BMDMAX 01-09-2005, 11:52 PM It must have been smoking hot to do that! I have had looming in that location on my LB7 for a couple of years and no problems even with the cutting torch EGTs. I guess we will see! :)
Max Power 01-09-2005, 11:54 PM I have done it on my LB7 and my LLY! Do you tow? Mine happened while towing. Perhaps its due to the duration of heat when towing long grades. Maybe it's just the kind of loom I use.
I probably have a picture somewhere. I will post it if I find it.
