I was wondering about the different problems you guys were having with your predators. Has anyone had any problems with computer issues loading and unloading, ect.

The only thing I don't like about the Predator is the defueling on shifts during normal driving. Depending on what mood I'm in, sometimes I don't notice it and sometimes it bugs the shat out of me. But other than that a good programmer and no problems downloading or removing.

No computer issues here, uploading and return to stock fairly simple.
My only slightly negative comment is that the Ally doesn't shift quite as smooth as stock when running Predator programs.

As I was thinking about tuner's that was the one thing that had me leaning edge? If it defuels on shifts, Predator might be my choice.

when you first install it you would swear their was something wrong. but after driveint it for a few hundred miles its like driving a stock truck with more power(under normal driving conditions) but if you get on it hard it will defuel.

the only other thing ive herd was it runs off of your cigarete(sp) lighter and if your fuse is blown it wont load or unload. but thats only a matter of replaceing a fuse.

This is probably a stupid question but what does defueling mean. Thanks for helping out a newbie.

The best LLY programmer as of today. I have had mine for a couple of months. No problems to report...buy it, drive it and give it some time to adjust. Remember the ally learns when it is shifting not highway cruising...

No expert .....but IIRC....... provides less fuel (de-fuels)
at shift points to cut back on extra power to protect the tranny etc at shift points. As a result, sometimes a little hesitation can be felt.

I believe Everything defuels on the shift to a certain extent.

If i am just running it on 40 hp. is there a big problem with defueling or is this more of a problem with higher tunes.

let it adjust.
if your looking for gas milage instantly it wont happen. it takes a few hundred miles of going threw the gears for the tranny to learn. once the tranny learns how to shift with the extra power the gas milage goes up.

also you have to run 1/4 throttle 1/2, 1/3 and so on so it learns all of the power ranges. at least thats what i did with mine. my best mpg was 21.?? mpg right before the winter fuel came out. righ tnow with my tires i am geting about 17-18 around town i lost 1 mpg with my tires.

Is that hand calculated? I heard that the programer will mess with the DIC on these trucks and give a false mpg reading.

i dont have a dic.
that was hand calculated. i was accually getting better but i missed my exit on the highway by 10(my exit was 22 i got off at 32) so i flew back to my exit. that killed my milage. but i can only post what my average was for the tank.

Yam, LB7 or LLY?? I see you also have a Ext. cab and not a crew cab FWIW as a comparison.

I had problems with the predator loading and unloading.. Mostly getting stuck between programs.. This leaves you sitting.. I've had to keep trying to load a program for over an hour before it actually loaded on three seperate occassions.. When it doesn't load completely the truck will not move.. The enging won't even turn over.. I sent it back once and it still does it.. I'm just leaving it where it is until Mr. Coles' new program is out.. Whatever you get, you'll be proud you did.. For a while, anyway. The performance increase in most all programs will leave you smiling if you're used to a stock truck.. Good luck..
