You can now get the 3500 with 4.10 rear gears and I believe those are the ones with the 23,500 GVWR.

You can't unring the bell. Although you can duplicate everything that an '05 might have, you are stuck with the lower factory applied rating. This doesn't mean that your reconfigured truck won't handle the added load, but in the rare event that you are involved in an accident for which you are at fault and an issue arises in which your combined weight may have been a contributing factor to whether it was avoidable, the plaintiff's lawyer is going to try to fillet you like a fish. Of course, you would defend by asserting the mods made to accommodate the added weight, at which point it becomes a battle of the experts and on and on. As I say, this is the worst case and unlikely to occur, but it is a risk you assume when exceeding the factory ratings.

TSCKEY, Thanks for the input and of course that wasn't what i wanted to hear but i know you are right. BLUENOTE, Thanks for the info, i didn't know if they added bigger brakes or what. i know i like the 3.73 rear better.
