For those that have followed any of my threads you will be excused for thinking I am in denial regarding the condition of my engine! I need to go back to the engine re-builder and I am just gathering all supporting evidence to make sure I know what I am talking about and can present a good case.

When trying to identify a squeaking noise (that turned out to be the alternator) I noticed smoke coming from the air filter when I shut down the engine.

The attached video shows smoke coming from the dipstick tube and the CDR tube. I placed a mirror over both and it fogged up. What would cause this?
I believe the heads are cracked or gasket blown not to mention low compression on 3 cylinders!

I am going to pull the thermostat housing this weekend and look for bubbles in each cylinder head.

As always, thanks for your time and responses.

Sorry I do not know your story but sounds like you got a rebuild that was not rebuilt properly. I think you are on with the head crack or head gasket. Either way, Your video will show well for coverage or court appearance. That coupled with verification of mileage and a witness to the smoke and problems, you can get even somehow.

Check that oil for coolant contamination and smell the smoke to see if coolant or oil.

I guess my question is - Does anybody have smoke puffing out of the two places shown in the video or am I special!
