Is it possible to install the ac/heater dual zone digital control units to my truck which is manual and one zone?

What He said. There's discussion about it being possible, but not at all simple, if you already have the dual zone manual system. You are missing several sensors and a couple doors in the ducts, and the trucks with the dual zone have the multiplexed electrical systems, so you don't even have the right collection of wires, fuses and relays.

Short answer: No.

How about if you've got an 03 or newer manual dual zone can it then be switched to the electronic dual zone?

Max, Colorado...

Thanks. I was thinking of trying this "upgrade" a while ago, but you just convinced me not to.

I still have not figured how the dual zone heater in my truck actually works. It seems more complicated than needed. I set both sides but can't actually see that it does anything different.

Mine works, I just don't see that it makes a whole lot of difference.

Either way the whole cabin get's hot or cold......just might be the air blowing on you is a little hotter or colder.

Hey, it's a nice feature I guess........but I don't care either way.

Mine seems to work better in the summer. Didn't have a choice with my truck, since I bought it off the lot, but if I could do it over it would be manual. 04.5 lly cc sb stock.

Mine works great, the dog gets too hot sometimes in the truck and would like it to be cooler while I like things a little warmer. His side runs are 68* while mine runs at 73-75*. Haven't heard him complain one bit.

I like the dual manual.. Too hot? turn your side down.. Too cold? Turn it up. Set the fan between what I want and the wife wants, and then handle the temps. easy cheese. We test drove one with the 'lectronic one and we ended up just driving around with the windows down instead of trying to fight with it.

I have 2 trucks with the dual manual, and 1 with the dual digital. The manual is the way to go. It gives you better control of which vents is used and how much. You can have a lot on the floor and a little on defrost or just the opposite. With digital you only have 1 setting for this.

The automatic sucks. You can't get it right. It is always too hot or too cold. Half the time, if you turn up the temp, it gets cooler. Just buy manual. I have heard heated seats are pretty nice though. It seems like a good way to keep the wife warm.
