: 2007 OBS Price & Reality Check?
ErnieStu 01-30-2008, 02:26 PM I'm planning to look at an old body style stock 2007 LT crewcab SB 4x4, with 14,500 miles. The dealer is asking $41,500. Any input on what's a realistic working price? I may try and trade my 03 Silverado 1500LS ext cab (81k miles) so I know that hurts me a bit, but I'm interested in what folks are really likely to end up paying.
Thanks for your help.
DrHolliday 01-30-2008, 03:03 PM Depending on the option package and what not, that sounds really over priced. I have the window sticker from when mine was new.
2006, ECSB LT3, fully loaded with everything. MSRP was 44,500
I bought it with 19k miles for 34,500
alvareracing 01-30-2008, 03:31 PM I hope they are willing to negogiate, I paid less than that for a brand new GMC SLE2 package LMM.
kakymax 01-30-2008, 03:39 PM Just get a new truck with better financing with what they are offering around here in rebates that seems to be a better option.

ErnieStu 01-30-2008, 04:02 PM Thanks guys, I know the dealer's high and I'd like to get down closer to 35k to make it worthwhile buying a used rig in the first place. From what I've seen around the forum here it sounds like that should be more reasonable. Am I on track?
jon leveque 01-30-2008, 04:06 PM i paid 37 new. so you should be thinking around 30,000
dtibbals 01-30-2008, 05:39 PM if its a crew cab with leather etc the 36k range is the high end and the low end is $32,000. With that many miles and an 07 its still going to demand a good price. I found a truck with low 20k miles on it 2006 (same as the 2007) for 31k and its an LT3, loaded leather etc. One thing I have found while shopping for a diesel truck is that they hold their value!!!! Even when you look at Edmonds and Kelly Blue Book etc they are in the mid to low 30's for a truck like that based on dealer retail. A better way to look at what you should pay for it is what is current trade in values. They need to make a profit but you have to figure they did not give even full trade value for it and in a lot of cases they are bought at auction. I would take the dealer trade in value, add a thousand or two and offer that to them. If you pay $35 then you will have over paid. Retail blue book is around $33,000 for that truck assuming its got all the options and in perfect condition.

JIMMMY 01-30-2008, 05:50 PM I paid $35K for my NBS with the deep cash allowances like they offer right now - and buying $500 UNDER invoice. What part of the country are you from?

I'm in Oregon.
I have no doubt that their asking price is way too high -- I'm really interested to see just how high they are, based on your comments here. What you guys are telling me is very helpful. Beers all around if this works out towards the low end of that range.
jr.parrish 01-30-2008, 07:09 PM What's the trim level (LT1..2..3...etc) on that particular truck? Sunroof, DVD?

Then look at Dave Smith in Kellogg for both new or used...

ErnieStu 01-30-2008, 07:55 PM It's an LT1 -- power leather seats but no heat in them from what I can tell (have not seen the truck in person). Far from loaded, I guess it's pretty middle of the road (no trip computer, no power mirrors, split bench front, 245/75 tires, etc.)
Another Q if you have time/patience: it's specs are shown as having a "VR4 weight-distributing hitch" -- was this issued with the actual w.d. hitch, or is that just a reference to the receiver & frame hitch mount?
Thanks again.
ErnieStu 01-31-2008, 10:24 PM The truck was nice enough and drove well but it was a leased vehicle from Colorado bought at auction -- some surface rust on exposed underbody steel, some spray-on underbody coating, gravel in the skidplate, a dinged up bed, new tires (only 14k miles) and pretty deeply scored rear disc rotors. Seems like it got used pretty hard in the past year. Would've been fine but my offer of 32k was soundly rejected so off I went...on to the next conquest. I sure am impressed with how well these rigs drive though. Can't wait to hook one up to the trailer and git.
