check out the brotherhood of handshakers thread, has a list of all the trucks with a manual tranny here on the forum (still growing and not limited to zf6 trucks either but its a good search start.)

the one i found up north wouldn't be too bad i suppose... it's just with the extra money they want for it, i wouldn't be able to spring for a SBC until may or so. other than that it's unmolested, so i'd have to come up with more $$ for mods. or i could get kziggy's with everything done to it that i'd do, except the front bumper. buying a modded truck... your thoughts?

you guys think there could be much wrong with that '03 with 80k miles on it? like i said it was a work truck, but outside of the clutch there isn't much to take the abuse is there?

That the one in Souix Falls or a different 03? There's a 2wd 06 6spd crew dually in Rapid City.

I was watching it on Ebay and I called the guy cause it said he's end the sale locally. He was a few hours away and I called to buy it and he said he had a buyer waiting on funds. The next morning he called and said it was sold . Was loaded too, even had Onstar and steering wheel controls ,salvage title but that's what I ended up with anyway.

BADD2500: I looked for the last 9mo and finally bought a ex-cab dually. They are terribly hard to find. If you are serious about driving to get one I can probably locate one for you. There are/were a couple on Autotrader.

There are five cc/lb duallies on autotrader.com!! One in Kentucky, 2 in Ohio, 1 in Washington, and a loaded one in Colorado. It is pretty slick!:driver:

I am very serious... I cant buy it out right, without selling my truck though, or trading it in. I found one on autotrader in KY, but it seemed High at $36,000 and didnt specify what Options it has, I'll have to call it.

I bought this truck 07 silverado 2500HD 6.0 5spd because It was all I could find new. It's great, but When I go to pull my 32ft trailer, it might be a problem. So I fear that I need a dually/duramax and I refuse to buy an auto. Im also a little picky and dont want a truck thats been abused, thats why I bought a new 07. If I cant get a nice zf6, I might have to bite the bullet and get a dodge, but I really dont want to.

Hey 01DuramaxSixSpeed, the one in Colorado is gold. It looks like the silver birch metallic from what I can tell. It is a GMC with 135,000 miles. It's a private seller that wants $21,000 for it. It is a sharp looking truck. He says it is loaded up. Leather/heated seats, satelite radio, power everything!!:D

It's an Ally . I e-mailed them just before buying mine.

I'm in the same boat. I have an 03 EC/SB with the zf-6 and love it. The only problem is when I bought it, it was the only 6-er I could find. Now that I'm married, my wife and I would like to have the extra room of the crew cab and the luxury of the fourth door that doesn't open the opposite way. Problem is, I want another 6-er and she doesn't coupled with the fact that I can't find a CC/SB zf-6 anywhere. I don't know if I can trust having an auto. It's nice knowing I can put a lil under 2 grand in a clutch and hold all the power I want to versus dumping anywhere from 4 to 7 grand in a slushbox to hold the same.

Something for those of you looking to buy an 2003 - 2006 ZF6 (or any 2003 - 2007 manual GM full size truck), keep in mind that you could not get a loaded truck in a manual. The best you could do was LS trim (before 2006) or LT1 trim (2006 - 2007). You could not get leather, or sunroof, or CD changer, or some other things (have to look them up) with a manual trans. So if you see ones on ebay or autotrader with high grade trim or options, you are most likely looking at an ally.

The 06 I refered to earlier had power windows, locks, seats,Onstar, steering wheel controls, power heated camper mirrors, ect. It was a 6spd. Had plenty of pic's to show. I also looked at an 05 Crew Dually that was loaded the same exact way and I believe it had a heated rear window :D.
My 01 even has 6 way power buckets.
There was a blue 04 ZF6 Crew Cab on Autotrader with black leather and all options.
They are out there, the thing was most dealers couldn't/wouldn't special order them  and just told us we couldn't get a loaded 6spd cause it was easier to sell an Ally . I've seen enough to know that there are at least a handfull of 6spds with everything.

When I ordered a 2006 8.1 with the ZF6, I could not order Leather or CD changer, I could (and did) order PL/PW/PM, etc. But no console (had to get bench seats) or anything like that.

I know 2005 was the same, 2004 and before may be different. I know in 2001 - 2002 you could get leather, console and anything you wanted.

I guess I've never seen a ZF6 without CD?? Even all the work trucks my local GMC dealer had in 06 has CD.

If you have too much trouble getting a Duramax with a manual in it then perhaps the alternative would be to go ahead and get a truck with an allison and switch it out the transmission to a zf-6. I happen to have one with SBC, clutch, stick, actuator, etc. What do you think?

lol i don't know a thing about doing a manual swap on anything newer than my 1970 AMC javelin. and even that was a pain. i suppose if i could find someone to help me who wasn't gonna charge an arm and a leg, maybe
