I will be upgrading my front bumper to a Buck Stop 'baja' bumper pictured below. Mine will only have the center hoop installed (also no hitch) and below it, it will have a custom mount for 3 Hella 4000's (HID). My OEM bumper with an N-Fab light bar could not handle the weight of the hella's.
In the Buck Stop bumper are holes for 6" lights and they suggest the Hella 500's which are 55W each.
1. Can I connected them directly to the OEM fog light connectors?
2. How many watts can they handle?
3. Should I buy new OEM connectors to wire into the Hella's to plug them into the OEM connector?

When I used Hella 500's on my old dodge they would accept a 100 watt bulb... BUT do not have them on when parked... their case is plastic and it is too much heat!

When I replaced my OEM front bumper -:t with the Buckstop one:ro) I connected the new Hella 500s to the OEM fog light wires. No problems yet. I cut off the OEM connectors and use male and female spade terminals to plug the wires together so I could disconnect them if necessary without cutting the wires.

The Purple wire is the hot wire. Remember you have to turn on headlights if it is day time, that switch is activated by the auto lights.
I just installed my PIAA 55 Watt Back up lights this past weekend. I did not want to add another switch and since I did not want Foglights frenched into my Reunel Front end replacement I used the OEM switch for the back up lights. Works awesome and keeps the inside free of additional switches. I also found a another cool benefit to having some serious back up lights...Had a tailgater this weekend....Got a little close.....So I hit the switch and POW....some good ol bright lights..He backed off quickly, then slowly passed around me...He and his wife were laughing, he waved and continued on......
Question on the Buck Stop, How much did the frontend replacement weigh? Just gathering info for others that might want information. I know my Reunel weighed 170ish plus the 130 of Warn M15000 winch.

I made sure the headlights were on :) I will need to look it over tonight.
it's possible I read the near german directions wrong in the Hella wiring diagram.
He claims the bumper is about 200 pounds but I think it's a tad lighter. I could just barely pick it up alone.
Unsure what it costs as of yet. I am looking into it.
Should be a full write-up about the entire truck in the next Sand Addiction magazine
