I just moved from So. CA to Wake Forest, NC. I had to tow my 10k lb boat across county. I left on 12/17 and got to NC on 12/21.

Most of the time, was driving at about 65-75 all the way. Took the I40 all the way across. Truck pulled the boat with no problems at all. Averaged 10 MPG. My truck only had 5k miles on it, so I expect the mileage to get better with time. Pulling any sort of grade, the truckpulled hard with power to spare, and pulled almost any grade at 65 or better. No performance mods other than the AFE St2. 245 sized stock tires. LLY motor.

Overall, am extremely satisfied with the power and performance of this truck.

Used regular diesel all the way across. Used Power Service Diesel as an additive and it worked great.

Just giving this report out to the forum so you all have some good towing feedback on this truck.

had a similar experience pulled my 38 ft 5th wheel from michigan to florida got 10-13 mpg running m/t get 18-21. till i got to florida now m/t i get 14-16 cant figure out why

dojohnso, what brings you to Wake Forest, NC? Hope you enjoy it here. one of my buds went back to San Diego, due to lay off, but would like to return again some day. I myself enjoy NC.

10K boat! Do you have any pictures of the rig? MPG's very respectable. JJ :)JJ, Im not sure how to post pixs on this forum. If you have a link, ill try to post pix of the rig and boat. Boat is about 30' long on the outside overall length. The boat is a Chaparral Signature 260 cabin cruiser.

100 miles outside of Knoxville, TN, we hit a blinding snowstorm and went off the road into a ditch from the ice on the road. Put it into 4 high and it pulled right out and back onto the road with no skidding or problems. Needless to say, we crept to the next exit to hole up for the night.

Pretty impressive.
