I have a manual shift transfer case in my truck along with the 6spd. the only way i have seen gm have the 4wheel drive select is in the knob on the dash. is this rare? or are there more of them out there?

yeah i love it too i would rather have mecanical because i drive into the back 40 at the farm looking for cattle and i cant have it leave me out there if something electrical breaks. the guys at the parts store looked at me like i was crazy yesterday though when i said something about it so i just wanted to make sure i wasnt the only one

I wish I had the manual transfer case, but with LTZ interior, it's not an option. Desire for a manual transfer case and manual shift transmission ALMOST drove me to getting a Dodge, but I just couldn't do it.

are the newer manual levers like the older (99 and later) levers? they weren't true mechancal, they're a lever with a cable that goes to a litttle solenoide gizzy.
at least if i remeber correctly.
forgive me if I'm wrong.

as far as i know, all straight shift trucks were manual t-case as well. but there again, i dont know very far...:D

i guess the general thought if you dont mind shifting gears all day, then surely you wouldnt mind the occasional pull on the t-case stick.

Except for the LTZ part. And I'd have to admit I looked at a Ford. -:t
Would like manual 4X4 shift and rubber floor instead of carpet. Really sucks trying to vacuum out mud.

I have GM factory rubber floors in all my '05 and newer classic bodied trucks. They're all floor shifted 4x4's, but they are work truck trimmed, with the cloth deluxe seating with the folding center armrest, PW, PL, chrome bumpers, and chrome side moldings. I added cruise and the disc player, but those could've been had.

My 06 CC SB has manual Transfrer case and rubber floor mats just the way I like it!:D I looked a long time for this combo and I love it! As for the ford junk I worked for ford as a tech for 10 yrs and you would not believe how many 4x4 trucks that I have seen towed in on a snow day and all we ever did was let the truck sit inside and thaw out:p: I will never buy a truck with an auto transfer case. manual and reliable thats the way I like it!:D
