Noticed exhaust smell in the cab today, thought it was vehicle in front of me. Ran an errand and shut the truck off for about an hour. When I started the truck the engine light came on. On Star reported the problem was with the Turbo Fan. Anyone have this problem before hopefully an easy inexpensive fix. 67,500 milles on 2005 2500HD with AFE Stage 11 intake, Magnaflow 5" Turbo Back Exhaust. Banks Six gun with speed loader. Leave on 4 all the time. If needing to replace turbo what brand should I loo for?

Check the wires going to the solenoid. I thought mine went bad also. Almost ordered one, then decided to hammer test it and found my wires broken into. The best i could figure was it was really cold the night before and i had a rat or squirl decided to cozy up on my engine and those dam wires just got in its way. Slpiced them back, reset ecu and i was back in bussiness.

Replaced Vain Control Solenoid. Still had the problem. Coded again saying bad Boost Control Sensor. Dealer still insist Turbo is bad and needs replaced. Picked up the truck and went to a buddy's shop. Ordered Sensor installed all codes gone :D. Turbo was clean, tight and dry. Turbo works better than it did when it was new. Been driving for two weeks now with no problems. Gotta love the dealer..........
