I have an 07 LBZ with cloth interior and the seats make a squeaking noise when I move. It is the cloth rubbing against the foam underneath I think. Just seeing if this is a problem with anyone else.

its a recall thats on the 1/2 tons also, i had to have the seat tracks changed out which solved the noise, it sounded like it was coming form the seat back, but it was the seat tracks.

i had my driver seat updated per the TSB if your referring to installing the soft part of velcro around the backrest frame. while they were at it they replaced the backrest frame and wrapped it and replaced the foam. it lasted about 12K miles and now its back creaking like hell, specially when its cold. need to get it checked out again, i wonder if the wrapping came undone? it seems to be more on the left side of the seatback. my pass. seat is also starting to squeak when someone is sitting in it.

I had the drivers side changed out and it's worse now than it was. I called the dealer and they said they had a fix for it and that he would call me back within about 30 minutes. That was over a week ago and I've yet to hear from anyone. O well, that survey I just recieved isn't going to read nearly as well now as it would have....

Fella's the way to get something done is to call a lemon law attorney. GM/ dealership will only put a band aid on the problem. What needs to be done is for the seat back to be replace and for the 2003 seat design put in. Because no one listens to the customer anymore. Believe me my last two trucks had more problems then any new truck should ever have(they were 03 Dmax and a 01 6.0 gas motor). It cost GM over $15,000 for both of them(and they don't know why they are losing $$$$)!!! Now I have a 2006 Dmax and have the same problem with the seat. I was told we have heard a lot of complaints but no fix yet.

my driver side seatback and foam padding were replaced already. they also wrapped the backrest frame with the soft part of velcro tape per the TSB they had. worked for a while but its back just like before. passenger side is doing it too. itll be going in within a week or 2 to have the seats checked out, get the steering wheel replaced, the lower steering column bearing replaced again and to trace down a rattle in the left a-pillar/upper dash area.............

I need to get my DS seat looked at as it has the exact problems mentioned in this thread ...seat back/bottom creak/squeak like hell when taking off or when ever I move the slightest in the seat. Seat back also makes a "popping" sound sometimes when I take off almost like it's filled with a giant bubble wrap bubble that pops. Can feel it kind of sink backwards too. Never had a problem one with seats in the 2003 :(

My driver seat makes the squeak but does not do the popping sound. Owned lots of trucks both new and used and never had one make any noise like this. Sure am glad I only gave $40,000---wouldn't want to expect too much!

That rattle in the pillar are I bet is a loose dash clip in the dash/windshield area.

Since GM is not willing to do step up to the plate for the following problems:seats popping/squeaking both DS&PS,steering column noise, dash rattles etc. If anybody get an attorney to make a class action law suit I am there! I hate to have to be one to say this is only way to get this s--t taken care of. Because I don't know about you but I did not pay $40,000 plus to have problem with a truck with less than 34,000 miles! Which I have had since I bought the truck. I bought a 1990 honda accord with 154,000 miles that has less noises than my like a rock 2006 d-max 3/4 ton truck

#PIT4273: Pop/Clunk/Chirp/Squeak/Itch Noise From Seat Back - keywords back cover foam - (Feb 1, 2007)

Subject: Pop/Clunk/Chirp/Squeak/Itch Noise From Seat Back

Models: 2003-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe

2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic

2003-2007 GMC Sierra Classic

2003-2006 GMC Yukon, Yukon XL

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
Some owners may comment on a pop/clunk/chirp/squeak/itch noise coming for the seat back when getting in or out of the vehicle or pushing on the seat back. The seat back foam is glued to the metal seat back frame. This concern could be caused by the foam becoming separated from the metal seat back frame, as shown.

Recommendation/Instructions:
To correct this concern remove all of the glue and foam from the metal seat back frame. After the seat back frame is cleaned obtain an ample length of the loop/soft side of Velcro to wrap the entire seat frame. Wrap the Velcro around the metal seat frame like a candy cane, but do not leave any space between the wraps, so the entire frame is covered. Install a NEW seat back foam and reassemble the seat.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. this is the TSB i was referring to earlier. they actually replaced the seat back frame then wrapped it with the tape stuff and installed a new seatback foam. it worked for a while but its back now. maybe the tape came loose and moved a little bit.........

My 2006 LBZ had this issue and I could not get rid of it. My solution was to trade it in on a 2007.5 LMM. Problem solved:D. I feel bad for the poor bastard that got that squeaky truck:cool:

You cant point all the blame at GM on some of your issues. You need to point at the dealer. They are the ones that dont want to deal with it or stick some moron who doesnt know how to follow GM directions on this. I took my truck in one for this issue and it lasted a week. I called them up and they said we will just order you two new seats. A week later the seats came in, they were installed and have been great. Every once in a while, mainly over really rough terrain, I hear it squeek but not like before.

i think i accidentally stopped the dash rattle when i was putting in my edge insight this past weekend. i pulled the a-pillar trim loose and up so i could run the cable like i wanted and ever since i put it back the noise has been gone.

goin in tomorrow for the seats..........

I finally got my dealer to check it out and they took it in and removed the seat back and stuck a shop towel in between the cushion and the frame....:( It squeaked worse after I got it back.

I then took it to another dealer and they ordered a new back and the electric gizmo and had a local shop that is an interior specialist repair the seat. It's better than it was, though it still squeaks some.

Now with 20K+ miles on the truck, the fuel pump has gone out and the dealer is in the process of changing it out...:(

I like my truck, though all of these little problems are starting to get on my nerves....

I dug into my annoying rattles in the dash/glovebox area and the squeeky passenger seat.

After reading this and other threads, I went looking for the white plastic bushings that connect the upper (back) and lower seat together. I found a few and applied some silocone spray, which immediately eliminated the squeek.

See photo's for the areas I applied the silocone spray. (passenger side, with the plastic panel removed)
