Every since I purchased this truck (2003 2500HD 4x4 CC) a year ago, the driver's side seat heater will sometimes come on by itself. Last night on my way home from traveling, I stopped at a rest area for a nature break. When I got back in to leave, the cruise control would not come on. It was working fine before I stopped. Finally after about 45 minutes of driving, I felt my seat getting hot and saw that the heater had activated on its own again. So as always, I cut it off and then tried the crusie control and it started working again???? This is the first time that my cruise control didn't work and then started working again. Is the cruise control and driver's side seat heater on the same circuit? Do you know of any fixes for this type of electrical gremlin? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know how this would relate to the heated seat problem but sometimes the brake switch tends to not fully release with your foot off the brake and keeps the cruise control off. Bouncing down the road can reset it. If it happens again, put your toe under the pedal and lift. If cruise then works, you have found the problem. As for the heated seat, I sometimes notice mine coming on after I have adjusted my arm on the arm rest. Really easy to bump the on button without wanting to.

In another post, someone said that they had a bad fuse box, you might take a look and see how close the fuses are to each other and check condition.
Does it do it with the brake controller on? Did it do it before controller was installed, might be back feed due to the fuse box.

Has done this since I bought it. It did this before I installed the brake controller. I also know that my arm has not touched the button becuase it did it a few times without my arm being near the armrest.

If you have a 12V battery circuit to your trailer plug(s), pull the fuse for that circuit and see if the cruise comes back.
On my 07.5's, a little, tiny bit of water at the trailer plug will disable the cruise:mad:, due to 12V leaking into the brakelamp circuit at the trailer plug socket. Or, using the turn signal will disable the cruise:mad:, also.

I had my driver's side heated seats turn on at random in my truck when i bought it in October. I had my truck fixed under warranty work. I think they told me they replaced the switch for the heated seats. It's only been 2 months since the warranty work was done and my heated seat on the driver's side still turns on at random sometimes...not sure why, but the switch must be a poor design that fails often. I did put down the part number for the switch on a previous post....I'll see if I can find that post and relay the thread to you. good luck
