I am waiting for the TTS PL programmer to come out in the Feb/March time period. TTS seems to me to be a safe and trouble free mod.

Daily driving and towing? Well ...... ):h

I went through the same dilemna on the old DP. Guys that want more power to go fast, race, spin em' up, etc., will recommend one box while guys that just want more muscle towing will recommend another. You?

I was looking for a tow tune, yea I would like a little more power under the pedal for daily driving, but with a dually I zero'd in on mostly towing. I liked what I read about the Predator and was ready to buy one, but I needed gauges to monitor EGT's, boost, etc. So I priced a gauge package with estimates between $500-$700 installed. Between the two I was up around $1100.

This got me thinking. The Edge/Juice w/attitude monitors EGT's, boost, has tranny slippage protection, has EGT backdown protection, all for around $675. The main complaint from LLY owners with the E/J appears to be those in the "balls to the wall" category mentioned above. I plan to run on level 1 for my application. So I ordered an E/J from a DP vendor and should have it soon, uh real soon just in case the vendor reads this post. ):h

Good luck! JJ :)

Morning,
Both the Edge or the Predator will get you the HP you want/need. The difference being if you plan to get gauges (you should you know) to protect from high potential EGT's. The Edge makes gauges an easy additiion and installation is simple too. We sell lots of Predators Programmers and lots of Edge modules too, what you need to decide is if you want the gauges.

I just got off the phone with TTS and they told me the PL III will be out mid summer at the earliest. Plus they couldn't tell me if it was permanent like the PLII of more like the Predator. It'll be really col if it is more like the predator, but with the cool programing of the TTS people!

Bundysgn,

The new TS Performance Activator will be available on the 1st of Feb. This Plug and Play Module will add 0-90hp on a turn dial. We have also seen an increase in fuel mileage of 2.5 miles per gallon. Dyno charts will be availble soon. Watch the website at www.tsperformance.com for the release date.

I read all these post an i can't decide.I have a 2004.5 lly sb 4x4 thanksI was primarily looking for better throttle response, adjust for tire size, and simplicity. Ended up going with Hypertech, which satisfied my needs. Smokes the tires good with level 3 and has a good overall feel on level 2 (which I primarily leave it at). The good news is that there are several good choices out there!! Keep your eye on the performance thread and you will find lots of good info.

I installed the TTS Tow/Tune approx. 3000 miles ago and I'm very pleased with the results. I wasn't looking for anything too radical and the TTS box seemed to fit my bill. Nice power when needed and not that rough on the truck. My only complaint, and it's not really a problem, is when WOT the ole Ally wants to hesitate a bit between shifts although the tranny has adapted a great deal since the initial install.

Especially if your DIC is on with the hand calc'd MPG. My DIC was always off by 2mpg before the EDGE. Now it's off by 1MPG. I'd say the DIC got 1MPG worse on mine. Hand calc'd no change in fuel economy. Just my experience.

With the Predator on 65hp my DIC was over 25% off. I did not get any real increase in fuel mileage, but I really like the Predator for the LLY. I have had the Edge, Quadzilla, and the Power PUP on my LLY. All of them said they would increase mileage, none did MT. The Edge and the Predator did seam to help on a heavy load. My LLY trucks are stock and "kity-less".

I had my Predator set on the 65HP tune for a run up to Oregon recently. The DIC was showing 23MPG!!! Hand calculation however showed 19MPG, which admittedly is an increase over stock for me but damn wouldn’t 23 be nice):h . I am currently running my Predator on the 40HP tune and love the drivability. This tune is great, has good low end power, low noise (i.e. didn’t increase diesel noise over stock), low smoke overall I think it’s the way the Duramax should come from the factory!

I have the Edge. I have not had any problems with it. I installed it with 1000 miles on my truck now have 3500 with about 1000 towing my 5th. I love it. The power is great. I get 1 MPG better than the DIC says on level 3. When I tow I run level 2 and get what my DIC says. Having the gauges is a must for towing.

GM also says changing tires, changing aircleaners, emptying the ashtray, using the turn signals, or parking it for more than 5 minutes voids it too!

Just kidding.

It's up to the individual dealer with modifications. It's best to use modifications that you can easily remove to eliminate possible conflicts.
