I current have a 2500HD crew cab long bed 4wd that I bought in 2001. It has 80000 miles and has had a front wheel bearing replaced reciently and the trans shift indicator 6 months ago and set a check engine code and shut off on me during a trip to Montreal Canada over the Holidays. The dealer reset the code and replaced the fuel filter(9 months old) And everything is OK. I use the truck to haul a 44 foot Aluminium car trailer with 2 race cars inside with a gross trailer weight of 13400 lbs. I was looking at a new truck and couldn't decide to go with a 3500srw or another 2500HD. How does the ride, fuel economy, and towing ability compare one vehicle to the other. I have no complaints about the vehicle I have now except that I wanted to get a new one before I hip 100000 miles:)

i have the 3500 and love it, i think it pulls a little better and isnt effected as much by tongue weight. I couldnt be happier with my fuel economy and the ride is similar to that of the 2500hd but perhaps a hair stiffer. It definitely rides nicer with a load on. Just my 2 cents.

for the same price go with the 3500 srw, I just got mine and love it, ride is great and it pulls like a bat out of hell. Just knowing u have the capability for more of a load is also great.

If you want the long bed any way, go with the 3500. The only reason I can think of to go with the 2500HD is for the short bed. That is the only reason I went with the 2500HD. I wish that GM would offer the 3500 in a short bed version.
