I have worked on similar problems for couple of years. Mainly on Chevy's but occasionally on Dodge. I have been in tire bus for nearly 15 yrs and the last 4 years we have adjusted MANY goodyears for ride disturbance at absolutely NO CHARGE to consumer. They have a program in place for this. Unfortunatley it means tons of paperwork for dealership and little money for tire store but nontheless the program is there to help. They have a measurement for tire and wheel assemblies called Road Force and only the best tire & wheel shops will typically have the equipment to measure this. Have even gone so far as to just take tires and wheels from one truck and move to another jsut to prove to dealership it HAD to be in the tires or wheels. Just something to consider.. hope it helpsJamie Bing

Jamie,

I'm one without the problem. Have 2004.5 with auto, power steering weight, and stock Michelin tires and rims. No vibes for me yet. Wonder if the problems follow the goodyears? When taking delivery of my truck the salesman said, 'oh you got the Michelins, they're the best tire'.

I am unsure my truck has BFG's 265/75R17's from the factory. My fuel mileage is better running for an hour in snow in 4x4 going 45 mph than it is running at 72 on dry pavement on the interstate.....wondering if the vibration is causing the low mileage. (2mph worse) 13.1 running empty :(

I have the BFG's as well, sent them off to be rebalanced and same problem. And the vibe doesn't go away in 4x4!!! So, who knows....Regardless I am getting about 17.4 to 18.5 mpg on the highway at 63 mph. Not to upset with that.

Finally have mileage fixed....computer re-flash per TSB from Dodge Dealer. Truck getting at least 3mph better thus far. :) Truck still has vibe at 70 mph. To my amazement dealer ordered new drive shaft for my truck!! I will let everyone know if it is an aluminum replacement or steel and if it helps at all. Hopefully its not a carrot on a string!

vibration at 72 is much much better, almost gone with new driveshaft. I will be trying it at higher speeds once roads are clear of ice and snow.

Hello, I'm new here.

I just bought an 05 Ram 3500 and have the 75 mph vibration problem too.
Dealer swaped out driveshafts and ballanced tires and it helped some. Then I went to tow with it and aired up the tires to the towing pressures and that seemed to help a bit also. The vibration is still there, but dosen't seem as bad now. The dealer has a rear axle on order they want to try and see if that will fix the problem?

Vibration is much better. Only vibration I feel now is the engine. Drivetrain vibration is otherwise gone up to 85mph.~~~Used to the d-max still :(
